HOW MANY SESSIONS & HOW FAR APART?

The human body has anywhere between 8-12 cycles of hair, so depending on your hair type, skin type and the area being treated, you will usually need 10-12 treatments at 4-6 week intervals. 

WHERE CAN I GET LASER?

Anywhere you want! (except under the brow bone - we leave the Brows up to the Skin Coaches Brow Experts!) 

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE MY CONSULTATION OR TREATMENT?

Don’t do anything before your consultation, come as you are! (don't worry about about shaving or waxing before your consult -it helps if there's hair in the area)Before any treatments, please shave before coming in, ensure there is no tan or pre exposed sun to the area & advise your technician if you are on any prescription medication. 

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Apply our Soother Gel sold at the Skin Coaches this designed to stay in the skin for a longer period of time, avoid any heat on the area & exfoliate regularly over the upcoming weeks. Avoid activities that cause heat to the body such as saunas, exercise, hot baths, sun baking for at least 24 hours after any Laser treatment. If you are wanting to spray tan this is fine to do straight away. 

 

DOES IT HURT?

Our brand new technology has in built sub cooling, making your treatment as comfortable as possible. 

 

 

WHAT DOES 'GOLD STANDARD' LASER MEAN?

Nothing. It is just a way of branding and marketing, there is no clinical studies or TGA regulations that pacifically title Gold Standard Lasers to devices. 

 

 

CAN I HAVE MY TREATMENT IF I AM PREGNANT OR BREAST FEEDING?

Breastfeeding is fine. Pregnancy - no, we always recommend you waiting until this time is over, while you are pregnant your hormones are all over the place, your body can more sensitive & Laser has never been tested or clinically trialed on pregnant people. We recommend to shave (or wax) while pregnant and resume Laser as soon as your baby is born.  

 

 

I HAVE HAD LASER BEFORE ELSE WHERE, DO I STILL NEED A CONSULT?

Yes - your results will come down to the Laser technician, at the Skin Coaches we want you to get the best result & outcome hence why we consult every one individually & most important test spot to find the correct setting to ensure you are going to get the best result for your treatment. 

 

 

I WAS PROMISED FROM ANOTHER SALON THAT I WOULD ONLY NEED '4 TREATMENTS' BUT I STILL HAVE LOTS OF HAIR? 

At the Skin Coaches we believe that everyone is unique & we will consult everyone with a general 'average' guide. However, the human body is made up of several cycles of hair (8-12+) so for the best result you will need to get a series of 8-12+ treatments for the best outcome with the right amount of time in between each treatment. Unfortunately, it doesn't always come back to the machine - it comes back to you individually and the laser technician. 

 

 

I HAD A FEW SESSIONS & HAVE STOPPED, DOES THIS MEAN EVERYTHING I HAVE DONE IN THE PAST WITH MY LASER HAS GONE TO WASTE?

No, but you may feel 'hairy again' due to your body broken into more cycles of hair - as soon as you can get in for your next session the better.

 

 

WHAT IS IS THER DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR LASER & THE ONES I CAN PURCHASE ONLINE FOR HOME USE?

The results you will receive from the ones you can purchase online will never be effective, due to the low power behind them hence why they are easy accessible. The Skin Coaches machine is very high powered and all the operating staff have had to do advance training and operate under the best safety guidelines to be able to operate them and to get you the best results. 

 

 

HOW IS LASER BETTER THAN WAXING OR OTHER HAIR REMOVAL METHODS?

Unlike waxing that pulls hair out of the root only to grow back again, laser hair removal destroys the hair follicle, so that it will never grow back and leads to clean, smooth, hair free skin making day to day life so much easier. Laser hair removal treatments only need to be done every 4-6 weeks depending on the area of the body and most clients find that permanent hair removal is achieved in 4-12 treatments. This beats a lifetime of endless waxing appointments and can save you a lot money in the long run! Unlike waxing hair removal, laser hair removal is performed quickly and it only takes approximately 5 to 40 minutes per session for most individual face and body areas as opposed to waxing which can last up to an hour. Waxing can also cause painful and unsightly ingrown hairs which, lets face no one wants! It’s always tempting to pick and try to remove them which will then lead to scarring. Laser hair removal doesn’t produce any ingrown hairs and it actually destroys and prevents them from coming back. There are certain areas of the body that are more delicate than others and waxing pulls the skin which can cause discomfort, bruising and sometimes bleeding. It can also lead to redness, swelling and a rash. 

 

 

WHAT IF I HAVE TATTOOS OR PIERCINGS IN THE AREA?

We recommend taking any piercings out in the area that you are having treated, otherwise we will avoid the area. We cannot go over tattoo's, we will only go around the tattoo (if laser was to hit the tattoo it can cause damage to the tattoo & skin). 

At the Skin Coaches, we are do not remove tattoos. 

 

 

HOW YOUNG CAN YOU BE TO START LASER? 

The Skin Coaches are happy to start the treatments on candidates as young as 14 years of age. Please note: that anyone under the age of 18 will require signed guardian permission at the initial consultation. 

 

 

I WANT TO GET IT DONE, BUT WHAT IF I AM TOO EMBARRASSED?

Never be embarrassed at the Skin Coaches, we are here to support you to achieve your goals. Our Laser room is private & your consultation and all of your information remains strictly confidential. We have online bookings and extensive operating hours to accommodate your requests. 

 

 

DO YOU APPLY GEL TO THE AREA YOU ARE GOING TO LASER?

At the Skin Coaches we apply a hygienic water based gel before any Laser treatment, this makes a barrier between the skin and the machine, it creates more comfort for the treatment & makes the process more easier. However, if you wish to have the gel applied just mention to your Laser technician on the day.
